Title: Shipping Delays
Date: 23rd June 2006
Posted by: Andrew Nicolson
Message: Unfortunately not a good night weather wise, delays are as follows:

*

Trucks travelling to the lower North Island from Auckland, have all had to use the New Plymouth route. This has added between 1½ to 3 hours travel time, depending on destination. All roads through the central plateau are closed due to snow, ice and slips.

*

Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, Wanganui, Napier and Hastings are all delayed. We anticipate freight will be delivered today, but later than usual.

*

Gisborne and Wairoa are totally cut off and no freight has reached these locations this morning. ETA at this stage is unknown.

*

Nelson, Dunedin, Invercargill, Oamaru and Blenheim are delayed by up to 2 hours.

*

Queenstown and Central Otago are now a day behind, due to delays yesterday and there will be further delays today.

*

There maybe some delay in freight to Whangarei, Kataia and Bay of Islands as our truck heading north from Auckland was held back to take late inbound freight from the South Island and Lower North Island.

*

Due to freight arriving into Auckland late from other centres, there will be delays in deliveries around Auckland during the day, as couriers are being hit with volumes of freight during the day, they would normally have received and cleared on the first cycle.

We thank you for your patience.
